Chelsea to block this Arsenal transfer bid? (not Cech)

Before it became almost certain that Arsenal would be able to complete the transfer of Petr Cech from Chelsea, despite the misgivings and wishes of their manager Jose Mourinho, there were some Arsenal transfer rumours suggesting that the Czech Republic international would be just one of a double raid on Stamford Bridge.

The theory was that Arsenal would also bring the goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon across London, to continue his work with the 33-year old keeper, Cech is said to have a very close working relationship with the Frenchman and would want to keep working with the same coach at Arsenal.

That may not be possible, however, as The Mirror is reporting that Lollichon does not think Chelsea’s generosity in letting their very talented keeper leave to strengthen a direct Premier League rival will extend to his own case. He seems to think that the Blues, whether due to Mourinho or the owner Roman Abramovich, would put the kibosh on this transfer bid. But he also revealed that there has been no request from the Gunners as yet.

He told the French media, “For now, it does not matter. No contact has been made.

“I do not know if this has been discussed between the two clubs, but I do not think Chelsea will be favourable.”

It might not get us anywhere, but I think that Wenger might as well inquire about Cech’s coach if he thinks it would help us, once the keeper transfer is signed and sealed of course. What is the worst that could happen?
