Could Cazorla still return after being named in Arsenal’s Europa League squad?

Our little Spaniard Santi Cazorla was expected to have played his last game for Arsenal after having yet another operation just before Christmas, but now perhaps Arsene Wenger still harbours hopes that our brilliant midfielder could return to play in our Europa League games this season.

Wenger said a couple of weeks ago that he expected Cazorla to return to Arsenal very soon. The Boss said: “The latest news is that he is supposed to come back now. He had his latest surgery and we have to see where we go from there.

“I sent him a message two weeks ago and wished him well, hoping to see him soon. He has not come back yet because he has just had surgery. The medical people know much better than I do whether he will play again in 2018 before the end of the season. Before the end of the season will be hard for him.”

But now it appears that it is a possibility, and I’m guessing that our medical team must believe it’s possible or he wouldn’t have been added to the squad?

The full changes to our squad, as revealed by UEFA, are:
In: Santi Cazorla, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Out: Chuba Akpom, Krystian Bielik, Francis Coquelin, Mathieu Debuchy, Olivier Giroud, Marcus McGuane, Tafari Moore, Julio Pleguezuelo, Jeff Reine-Adélaïde, Alexis Sánchez, Ben Sheaf, Theo Walcott

It is good to see our new young Greek defender is also included, and hopefully he will progress enough to get to play with our seniors, right now i’ll take anyone instead of our current mistake-ridden defenders. Henrikh Mkhitaryan can also get a game if we get far enough, but poor old Aubameyang is ineligible….
