Crucial month can see Arsenal top of EPL table

While a lot of Arsenal fans may be feeling that Arsene Wenger and the players have missed a trick by failing to win our away game at Bournemouth in order to capitalise on the very welcome defeat of the current Premier League leaders Chelsea last night, I look at things a different way.

If Arsenal had lost then it would have been different, but we did make up ground on Chelsea and I think that the morale boost that fighting back from what looked an unassailable 3-0 lead will have given the Gunners the impetus to go on and put a string of wins together.

Arsenal go to Chelsea a month from now and if things go our way we could go above them at Stamford Bridge. This is not a pipe dream as Chelsea have away games with Leicester and Liverpool coming up and they are only eight points ahead of us right now.

We have Swansea, Burnley and Watford before Chelsea and without the crazy fixture congestion and with our injury situation on the mend you would expect us to claim maximum points from those three matches. Tottenham’s win last night could be much more important than the three points dropped, as the Sky Sports report on the game says they were ‘forlorn and bewildered’ after Spurs scored their second.

What a difference a day or even 90 minutes can make in football. Can the coming month make all the difference to Arsenal in the race for the Premier League title?
