Danny Welbeck all set to destroy Man United again?

The ex-Man United winger Danny Welbeck has hardly set Arsenal fans’ pulsing racing since his arrival from Old Trafford, but he certainly pulled out all the stops when the Gunners beat his old club in the FA Cup quarter-final, scoring the winner in the 61st minute.

According to the Mail, Welbeck has now recovered from his knee injury and is now ready to play on Sunday, and with Olivier Giroud looking tired and listless in recent games, and with Walcott’s failed experiment as his replacement, the stage looks set for another triumphal return for Welbeck.

Arsene Wenger started the Swansea game with his fifth unchanged starting XI in a row, but the team surely needs some fresh legs for this crucial match, which could seal our position in the Top Three if we win or at least draw this weekend. Welbeck certainly proved his ability to handle the big occasion in our FA Cup win, and Wenger was full of praise after the match. “It’s never simple to deal with that situation mentally because you feel a bit more under scrutiny,” Wenger said on the official Arsenal website. “You feel the eyes on your personal performance a bit more.

“That’s why I think it was a very interesting night for Danny, because he kept it simple, he focused on the game and he scored the winner for us. I’m convinced that he has shown in that occasion that he’s mentally very strong.

“I’ve seen many players fail against their old club. He’s one of the few you’ve seen succeed, and that shows you there’s something special in him.”

Let’s all hope that Welbeck can turn it on again and prove once again that Van Gaal made a big mistake by letting him join us to make room for the underperforming Radamel Falcao!
