Derby pressure on Arsenal after Man Utd draw at Man City

Not much has been going right for Arsenal this season, so I was suppose it was too much to hope that Man City would do us a favour in the local derby last night and take all three points off Man United. They did dominate almost completely and on another night would have won but Jose Mourinho brought his big red bus and went away with a point which puts them four ahead of us with one more game played.

He is likely to try to do the same thing at the Emirates next Sunday as well, and we have not exactly been incisive up front of late while their unbeaten run is a real worry for Arsenal and our chances of a top four finish. Even if we do beat them next weekend United will still be above us in the table unless we get something from the north London derby clash with Tottenham this Sunday.

In reality the Gunners now really need to beat Spurs and what is likely to be a much more open game that against United may be the better chance. I do not mean we should go all guns blazing by any means, but the pressure is certainly heavier on us after the United draw than it would have been had they lost.

But if you can’t stand the heat…
