Do Lacazette comments mean Ozil is STAYING at Arsenal?

Whereas it has been looking for quite some time as though Arsenal would soon be losing two of the best players in the squad, with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez nearing the end of their current contracts and showing no signs of wanting to put pen to paper on a new one, there have been some Arsenal transfer rumours in the last few weeks that have raised our hopes that the German playmaker, at least, could be set to change his mind and pledge his future to the Gunners after all.

There was talk about his proposed transfer to Manchester United to play under his old Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho once again being called off and I got the distinct impression that when he was subbed off after a sparkling performance away to Everton that Ozil looked like a man who had decided to stay.

Maybe that is because he feels that in our summer signing Alexandre Lacazette, he finally has the right striker to work with and finish off more of the many chances that Ozil can create. In Alexis Sanchez Arsenal have a great forward player and I for one am a abig fan of Olivier Giroud, but the summer signing is different.

He works hard within the team and with his pace and movement is becoming a great foil for the creative abilities of the German, who spoke about his new teammate this week in glowing terms, reported by The Mirror, when asked to compare Lacazette with Ozil’s former strike partner Karim Benzema who is alsio a rival for the position of forward in the France national team.

Ozil said, “I think Lacazette’s game is different.

“But I hope he will have as much success as Benzema. ‘He has his head on his shoulders, he works hard.

“I wish him to score as many goals as Benzema with the French national team.”

Dp you think Ozil will sign a new Arsenal contract? If so could it be due to Lacazette and their growing understanding on the pitch?
