Does Alexis switch mean striker off January wishlist?

Alexis Sanchez has been amazing since being switched to a centre-forward role this season, but does that mean Arsenal no longer need to target a new striker?

For a number of seasons the Arsenal fan-base have been crying out for a big-named striker to be snapped up, and when Lucas Perez arrived this summer, some had thought the club had at least gave in to some extent.

Things did not turn out that way however, with the Spanish signing failing to hold down a central role, and he now appears much more suited to a wide role in our system, while we have found our new striker from within our squad.

Alexis Sanchez has been an enigma since settling into his new role, which was originally forced due to the absence of Olivier Giroud. The Chilean is now being touted as one of the best strikers in the Premier League, which is huge praise considering the likes of Sergio Aguero, Diego Costa and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are also gracing the division.

The winter window is now coming round again, and we are still being linked strongly with a number of strike targets including Carlos Bacca and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but do we need them?

The Dortmund striker would no doubt be a great signing for any club in the world, with his vast amount of goals being a huge boost to any side, but for the money being spouted in the press, it would be a huge risk.

Alexis and Olivier Giroud are great options to have in the squad, and I simply cant see how Arsene Wenger could believe that we were in need of another addition to the role. In fact we have Danny Welbeck set to return also, who was in fine form in front of goal before falling foul of injury also.

I know PEA would likely be an improvement on our current options, but it would also force Alexis Sanchez back into his former role, and I feel like that could be bad for our team all round.

Do we still need another attacker? Or is PEA the only available striker who could improve us?
