Does another France record prove Giroud’s value to Arsenal?

The Arsenal and France international star Olivier Giroud may not be everyone’s cup of tea, or tasse de the if you are a follower of Les Bleus, but despite being roundly criticised by some Arsenal and French fans and some members of the football media all through his long career, Giroud has continued to find the back of the net and he keeps banging the goals in when given the chance.

Ask most strikers if they would change their goal records with that of Giroud, for both club and country, and not too many would turn you down. The big centre forward was at it again last night as he scored the second French goal in their friendly game against Aaron Ramsey and his Welsh teammates, a goal which took the game beyond doubt after Wales had started to look as though they may get back into it after the first half opener from Greizmann.

That striker gives the Arsenal striker 29 international goals and puts him 7th on the all-time list for France, just one behind his boyhood hero Jean-Pierre Papin, whose tally of 30 Giroud was hoping to match as reported by Arsenal.com back in April when he had just reached 23.

Scoring goals is kind of important in football, so has Giroud’s latest France milestone just proved that Wenger needs to give him more chances to do it for Arsenal?
