Draxler transfer will NOT mean Arsenal dump Ozil

In one of the latest Arsenal transfer rumours, it is being reported that Arsene Wenger is preparing to go back to Germany in January to sign the young Schalke star Julian Draxler. The Gunners were strongly tipped to sign the talented 20-year old in the summer, but concerns over the fitness issues that saw him miss out on the World Cup triumph in Brazil meant that Wenger went for Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona in a £30 million transfer instead.

So I am not sure why the Daily Express is reporting that it will be Mesut Ozil that will be dropped from the Arsenal line-up, or maybe even moved on, if Arsenal are successful in the attempt to prize Draxler from his Bundesliga employers.

The two Germans do not even play in the same position, unless you assume that the Arsenal boss is going to stubbornly persist in playing the 25-year old in his least favourite position on the left wing. Surely Wenger is not ready to give up so soon on Ozil, especially after his record signing was starting to show real signs of hitting form before he picked up the knee problem that could see him miss the next three months of football.

When Ozil is fit again, I/m fairly sure that we will soon see him back where he can best influence a game and utilise his talents, in the number 10 role behind the forwards. If anyone should be worried about their Arsenal place from the Draxler transfer, I think we should be looking at Herr Podolski. What do you think Gooners?
