Eintracht Frankfurt v Arsenal match preview and predicted score

Based on the matchday squad and the manner of the draw against Watford at the weekend it is expected that Unai Emery will be putting out a fairly strong team later today in the Europa League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.

It is difficult to know what sort of team the Spaniard will be putting out, especially with his very strange decision to rest Mesut Ozil, no one can say that the man is not full of surprises.

The advantage of keeping everyone guessing is that the opponents will have no idea the sort of line up or formation that Emery will be going with.

On the assumption that the coach goes with a strong lineup and that he plays both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe from the start I expect Arsenal to go on the front foot and be positive.

This could be a risky option, Eintracht is an attacking team themselves, they love to utilise the wings and that will put the Arsenal full-backs under pressure and the truth is that neither Ainsley Maitland-Niles or Sead Kolasinac have covered themselves in glory this season.

In better words, this game could come down to a very simply calculation, the team that scores more wins. The problem with that from an Arsenal perspective is that their defence is very vulnerable. There is a chance Rob Holding and/or Calum Chambers will start but that will not guarantee a strong defence from Emery’s men either.

It must be noted that Eintracht is not world-beaters, they are not Bayern Munich and can be beaten but neither are they walkovers. This is going to be a tough game for both teams.

All things considered, a draw would suit both sides.

Predicted score 2-2
