England boss tells Arsenal NOT to fret over Welbeck injury

After a somewhat hit and miss start to the season for Arsenal, this current international break was looking like a welcome on foe Arsene Wenger and his players, especially as we are expecting some key players like Walcott and Arteta back in action when the Premier League resumes.

But losing our German midfielder Mesut Ozil and French centre back Laurent Koscielny before the round of games had even started changed all that. Arsenal were then reminded just how much injuries have cost us in recent years and how vulnerable our playing squad is to any more problems.

So hearing the England national team boss Roy Hodgson reveal that the reason he replaced the Gunners’ new centre forward Danny Welbeck with Rickie Lambert towards the end of the game in Estonia was because the Arsenal man had turned an ankle was the last thing we needed.

But the manager also issued some words of rrassurance to everyone connected with Arsenal, suggesting that the ankle problem was a minor one and his decision to take Welbeck off was more of a precauition than anything else. Hodgson insisted the the 23-year old would be fine.

Lety’s hope that his diagnosis is correct because we have already got our front line striker Olivier Giroud out of action and the next option, young Frenchman Yaya Sanogo has not played for a while due to his own injury and is still to score his first senior goal for Arsenal.

Is it not about time that the god of football injuries started picking on some other club?
