The Arsenal and England midfield star Jack Wilshere has had more than his fair share of injury problems already in his playing career. In fact he has probably missed more days due to injury than something like 90 percent of professional footballers and he is still only 24-years old.
So it is fitting and a small measure of justice that an injury to another player might just prove to be a big help to him getting his career back on track. As we reported here at Just Arsenal earlier the on-loan Gunner has been rewarded for his decision to go to AFC Bournemouth to get the regular game time he was unlikely to get with his boyhood club with a call-up to the latest England squad named by Gareth Southgate.
That is not the only good news for Jack though, because his main rival for a place in the starting line up is not included in the squad, with the young Tottenham player Dele Alli having picked up a knock in training ahead of the north London derby.
England may have plenty of options in some positions but creative attacking midfield is not one of them. That number 10 role is what Arsene Wenger sees as his best position as well, so if Wilshere starts there for England in their two games against Scotland he will have a great chance to remind us all what a great talent he can be.
Watching him recently for the Cherries it appears that our young Gunner is getting his sparkle back, so is this chance to shine for England a massive step back on the road to Arsenal for Wilshere?
