Even Arsenal fans cannot argue with Tottenham boss

Even though it would mean that Arsenal fans would have to see our hated north London rivals give their own hopes of lifting the Premier League trophy a massive boost, I think we should all be hoping for a Tottenham win on Wednesday night.

That is because their opponents at White Hart Lane will be the current league leaders Chelsea and the sooner that someone puts the brake onto their momentum the better for Arsenal, and for every other club hoping to beat Chelsea to the title.

As the Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino says in a Daily Mail report, the Premier League needs Tottenham to beat Antonio Conte’s team to keep things interesting for us all.

The Argentinean said, ‘Maybe we will feel how Leicester felt last season — all the teams were with them and against us.

‘Chelsea will be a tough game but a good opportunity for us to stop them and reduce the (10-point) gap. It’s important for the Premier League and for us.’

The Spuds do not have a great record against their London rivals but then again neither do we and Arsenal beat them quite comfortably earlier on in the season. They are also in very good form after hammering Watford 4-1 and their manager has utilised a similar system to that employed by Conte after Chelsea’s loss to Arsenal, with three at the back.

Arsenal do in fact have more reason than our rivals to hope for Spurs to at least get something from the game because a Chelsea win would beat our own EPL record of 13 straight wins as well as keeping them well clear at the top. Can our lo9cal rivals do us and every other title chasing club a big favour?
