Expect Arsenal to bounce back BIG against Hull City

While it is pretty difficult for anyone connected with Arsenal to feel very positive about anything football-wise at the minute, after a comprehensive stuffing from the Premier League leaders and now almost certain champions Chelsea last weekend, I do not think we should be all doom and gloom.

And while I am a bit sick of hearing Arsene Wenger and various Arsenal stars talking up the team spirit and mental toughness in the dressing room, I do accept that they have a point. The Gunners may have shown some of the same old failings this season, the last few years has seen arsenal disprove some of the criticisms.

We have seen the Gunners bounce back from bad performances, results or runs and I expect the players to do that again this weekend. Look back to the very start of the season, when the knives were out for the boss after Arsenal picked up just a point from the first two games against Liverpool and Leicester, after which we went on an 18 game unbeaten run.

Those defeats against Watford and Chelsea were only the second time this season we have lost back to back games, with Everton and Man City away before christmas being the other. The players will know they need to bounce back this weekend and with the Champions League trip to face Bayern Munich coming up they are playing for their places, so expect a strong response against Hull.

It may be too late for the title but we should at least be able to stop worrying about dropping any further.

Bob.
