Former Gunner gives Arsenal EPL title boost against Man Utd

Arsenal have got a couple of very important matches in the FA cup and the Champions League to deal with first, against Hull City on Saturday and then Barcelona on Tuesday night, but the Premier League clash with our old enemy Manchester United is really the most important one of the next three games.

The title race is tighter than a gnat’s chuff and with Leicester City and Tottenham already above us, even though the spuds are only in second place due to their better goal difference, we really cannot afford to give any ground in the next round of games.

Both of our main rivals have relatively easy looking games, with the Foxes at home to Norwich City (let’s be having you Delia’s mob) and our lilywhite rivals at home to Swansea City (let´s see some fire from those Welsh dragons) you would have to say that Arsenal have a much tougher task.

So the former Arsenal academy star Kristoffer Olsson and his team mates from the Danish champions FC Midtjylland did us a massive favour by inflicting a painful and damaging defeat on Louis van Gaal and his players last night. Man United are really in deep trouble now as the Europa League is possibly their best hope of being in the Champions League next season.

You would still expect them to overturn the 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford next week but the loss gives the boss no room for manoeuvre. He will have to select his strongest XI and give it everything, just a couple of days before the Gunners roll into Manchester.

So Olsson may have only made one senior appearance for Arsenal in the League cup against West Brom in 2013, but he could have just done his former club a massive favour and handed us a potentially title winning advantage.
