France squad a timely boost for Arsenal duo as Man Utd moan

With his two well taken goals in the Premier League this week bringing his Arsenal tally up to a very respectable four goals from just seven appearances, and not all of them from the start, the summer signing from Lyon should be feeling pretty pleased with himself and life at his new club.

We know that strikers thrive on confidence, though, so anything that helps to increase the self-belief of Alexandre Lacazette has to be seen as a good thing from an Arsenal point of view. And if there was any chink in the confidence of the 26-year old it may well have been his international career.

Lacazette has not exactly shone for the France national team as yet, with just a single goal from his 13 caps so far, and despite his free scoring season in Ligue 1 last year he was often overlooked by the manager Didier Deschamps, so Lacazette might have been sweating on his inclusion in the squad for the upcoming international break.

So the news that he has been selected should be a timely boost, especially with the amount of attacking options the France boss has. One of those options is the man United forward Anthony Martial and United fans are fuming that he has been overlooked after a good start to the new season, reports Metro, with many of their keyboard warriors taking to social media to vent their anger at Deschamps.

Olivier Giroud has also made the squad and after his lack of game time for the Gunners so far this will be a boost for the big man as well and will also give him some valuable time on the pitch over the next two weeks. Never mind Martial, you can’t win ’em all.
