Goal-a-game Frenchman to be Arsenal secret weapon?

While I do agree with the majority of Arsenal fans in feeling that having Olivier Giroud as the team’s first choice centre forward is unlikely to steer Arsenal to the Premier League title, I do not want the big Frenchman to leave the club as I feel that in him we have a top class player to bring off the bench.

Giroud proved himself time and again as a super sub for the Gunners this season and I feel he has it in him to keep doing so once again next season and that is a huge asset for any side to have in a long and arduous campaign with European games and two domestic cups to cope with as well as the league.

Ever since coming to north London after firing his former club Montpellier to their first French title, Giroud has steadily improved with his performances and stats for Arsenal and this season he proved that he has the right attitude to have an impact off the bench even though he would rather be starting games.

I reckon he could be in line to start a fair few games next season as well, especially those in which we expect to be dominant on the ball and face a deep lying and well organised defensive unit looking to deny space and frustrate the fluency of Arsenal.

On a final note I would just like to point out that the hat-trick scored by Giroud for France against Paraguay this week was the first for his nation since 2000 but more importantly, it took the big Gunner onto 16 goals in his last 16 internationals. Not bad for a sub eh?
