Good and bad news for Arsenal on Bellerin transfer

Even though the Arsenal and Spain international star Hector Bellerin still has three years left to run on his current contract, which he signed last summer after securing his place in the Arsenal first team and doing so well in his 36 Premier League games that he was voted into the PFA team of the season.

The speedy young Spaniard has never looked back after the injury problems of Debuchy and Chambers gave him his chance and the right back continues to go from strength to strength. The only problem with that is that some of the biggest clubs in the world are taking notice and the rumours are that both Man City and Barcelona have serious transfer interest in the 21-year old Gunner.

Just last week The Mirror and others were reporting that Arsenal were offering him a new five year deal to reward his form and fend off any transfer bids and of course the best thing for us would be if he signed it as quickly as possible.

If not or until he does we have to hope that nobody can prise him away, so the report by the Evening Standard which says that Man City will give Pep Guardiola whatever funds he needs to boost the squad is not good news for Arsenal, especially as the former Barcelona boss is said to be very keen on Bellerin.

There was also some good news for Arsenal about our starlet in the Evening Standard, as the other main suitor Barcelona are said to be in more of a rush to sign a new right back, so with that in mind they are looking elsewhere and the Juventus and Swiss international right back Stephan Lichtsteiner could now be their main target.

Do you think Bellerin will sign a new deal or will this turn into a proper transfer tussle?
