Good news for Arsenal following international break

One of the biggest worries for football fans, when there is an international break, is players returning with injuries or knocks, well, it is good news for Arsenal with all their players returning injury-free as confirmed by the club.

Club statement

All players who were on international duty will have returned to us by Thursday morning. No international players have reported injuries during this period.

However, all international players will be assessed ahead of Sunday’s match.

This is indeed good news, it had been reported that Lucas Torriera, Granit Xhaka and Nicolas Pepe all had injuries, though in the case of Pepe it was later confirmed that it was just a fitness issue.

This official confirmation from the club means that all the scaremongering from the press was basically fake news and can now be dismissed out of hand.

Unai Emery will still be without Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding, Dinos Mavropanos and Kieran Tierney but other than those four will have a full-strength squad to choose from ahead of the game with Watford on Sunday.

Holding is actually back in full training and it will be just a matter of time before he is included in the matchday squad, Bellerin, Tierney and Mavropanos are all due to be in full training before the end of the month.

There has been no specific update on the fitness of Pepe so one has to assume that he is fit to play on Sunday against the Hornets.

Overall a very positive update from the club.
