Has Arsenal’s home form let them down in recent years?

Aaron Ramsey has revealed that Arsenal are concentrating on their home form this season following a ‘fantastic’ display on Monday night.

The Gunners overcame West Brom 2-0 yesterday, although it was not as easy as the scoreline suggests.

We had to battle with the Baggies and would have to consider ourselves a little lucky to have made it to the midway point in the match with a 1-0 lead, and hardly looked likely to run away with the game in the second half either.

Ramsey has hailed his side’s result however, citing the importance of all three points with the pressure on from our rivals weekend’s results also.

Rambo said: “It was a fantastic performance by us tonight.

“After none of the results went for us at the weekend, we had to take full advantage of being at home, and we managed to do that.

“So it was important to get the win tonight. We want to make the Emirates a fortress, we have three wins here now and we want to build on that.

“We know what our qualities are, we know what we are capable of producing, it is just about producing that consistently.”

Arsenal can’t moan too much about our home form last season, winning 14 and losing only two of our 19 in the Premier League, with only Chelsea and Tottenham winning more, and our tally of wins at the Emirates was the joint-best in the division the previous season, but we could most certainly do better.

Interestingly both Manchester clubs had a worse home record than us in both of those campaigns, and they look to be the teams we will have to overcome if we are to top the table this season.

Do we need to better our tally of 14 wins from 19 to have a chance of topping the table? Could we go unbeaten at home this term?
