Has Jack Wilshere given up on Arsenal dream?

Jack Wilshere is claimed to have called time on his stay as an Arsenal player, with an exit speculated to be on the cards.

The 25 year-old has been with the club since the age of nine, and had become a first team regular early into his career. Things were not plain sailing from there however, with a number of long-term injuries having stunted his progression, with many believing he would be the next big star to break through at Arsenal.

We will all remember the time that Wilshere completely bossed the game against Barcelona in the Champions League previously, but that same player has not been seen for some time now, and he appears to have given up of being the future captain at our club.

Jack spent last term on loan with Bournemouth and was enjoying a return to regular action and a return to fitness, but as with most previous years, an injury put an end to that run, and that looks to have made his mind up about his future.

Newcastle are claimed to be keen on bringing him up north, while a few other clubs appear to also be interested in his signature, and while his current contract is into it’s final 12 months, the fee is not expected to be huge.

The Magpies are also keen on signing Lucas Perez from our club this summer, although only on a temporary basis, but the player is believed to favour a return to Spain, with hopes of making the international squad for the World Cup next summer in Russia.

Arsenal appear to be willing to allow both to leave for the right price, but it still seems a shame to lose Wilshere after all we have done for him.

Should we have tried to include Wilshere this term?
