Has Kolasinac persuaded Max Meyer to join Arsenal?

Sead Kolasinac joined Arsenal last summer from Schalke04 in the Bundesliga, and he could have been instrumental in persuading Max Meyer to move to the Emirates as well on a free transfer. Kolasinac got a massive raise when he was signed by Arsene Wenger as there was no ned for a transfer fee, and it looks like Max Meyer has decided to go the same route. Arsenal have been linked with Meyer for the last few months, and if there is no smoke without fire then it is extremely possible that Meyer could be following his old team-mate to the massive wages on offer in the Premier League.

Meyer’s contract runs out in June, and although Schalke have been trying desperately to get the German international to sign an extension, according to their sporting director Christian Heidel the club have now accepted the attacking midfielder will be leaving at the end of the season.

“At the moment we can and must expect that Max leaves the club in the summer,” Heidel said to reporters on Thursday. “Everything suggests that.”

“There is no offer from us and no wish from Max to have a conversation again.”

It is quite normal for players in German to announce which team they are joining before the end of the season, especially if they are joining Bayern Munich like Kolasinac’s old team-mate Leon Goretzka has already done. But we all know Arsene Wenger hates anyone knowing about his transfer business before Arsenal can announce it to great fanfare, perhaps Kolasinac has persuaded the 22 year-old to join the Gunners?
