Has Mesut Ozil played his last game for Arsenal?

I have just read a very strange article by Rob Shephard, who claims to have inside information that Mesut Ozil is very unhappy at Arsenal and Arsene Wenger is considering off-loading the injured German in January.

I think we can all agree that Ozil has not always played to his best for the Gunners but to suggest that he wants to move on is surely a bit premature. The article in the Mail also suggests that Bayern Munich could be willing to return with a £30 million bid, and Arsenal could be willing to soak up the £12 million loss and make room for Sami Khedira to replace him at the club.

We all know that Ozil prefers to play in his Number 10 slot, and Shephard thinks that the reason for his unhappiness is that he is not allowed by Wenger to get his wish. When Le Prof finally gave him the chance against Villa he had a great game, but Wenger clearly said that he will choose where the German playmaker will play. Wenger said: “It is tempting to keep Ozil in that central role but I maintain again that he will play where he is needed for the balance of the team and that can change game by game.”

I wonder how this Mr Shephard knows what is going on in Ozil’s head, or even Wenger’s, and I am having trouble believing that Wenger would so easily give up on one of the best players on the planet after just a few weak performances. Who thinks that Le Prof would really sell Ozil in January?
