Home form the key to Arsenal beating Spurs and making Top Four

Everyone may be saying that Tottenham are this, and Tottenham are that, but let’s just have a little look at the facts shall we? Arsenal are playing at the Emirates and we have won our last TEN home League games, in fact our last defeat was back in January against Watford.

And against Tottenham we are unbeaten in our last seven home games against them. The last time we lost to them was in 2010, and before that you have to go back to 1993 before the second last. Home form and history definitely favour the Gunners!

Arsene Wenger is confident that our home form and our ‘pride’ will get us through this weekend. “First of all there’s always pride involved, the desire to beat your opponent like all the neighbours in the world have,” Wenger said.

“It’s always a fierce derby. As well to keeping your nerve, you must have full commitment while being lucid and calm enough to focus on the game.

“It’s one of the fixtures that is very important for us and that we want to win, as well because in the table we have to make some ground up on the top teams.

“At home we have been very strong and our home strength will certainly be vital to decide where we finish at the end of the season.

“I think Tottenham are a good side but we have the quality to win this game and that’s what we want to show.”

With all these facts at our fingertips, it is fair to say that it is us that should be felling confident going into the derby. Tottenham have already been beaten by two other ‘top teams’ in Chelsea and Man United this season, and we are going to make it three on Saturday.

Come on you Gunners!
