How Arsenal can STAY on top of Premier League

All that Arsenal need to do in order to become champions of the English Premier League for the first time since Arsene Wenger guided our great team of invincibles like Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Tony Adams to that historic unbeaten season is to stay where we are, at the summit of the table.

But while that is an easy thing to say, we all know that it is a very hard thing to do, especially for Arsenal. We were in this position two years ago and it still hurts to remember how it all fell apart thanks to a massive injury list and some terrible tankings by the other big title challengers.

So how do we stay on top this time? Well for starters we could do with a nice handy draw between Leicester City and Man City. That would put the Foxes level on points with a lesser goal difference than Arsenal. If either team was to win I think we all agree that we would like it to be Leicester.

Our next game is at home to struggling Newcastle and it is one we should win but we need the next three as well, away to Liverpool and Stoke and then at home to Chelsea. Get through them unbeaten and with a couple of wins and I think we will be well set as it is a tough run, while Man City losing Vincent Kompany often sees them drop points.

If we can keep our current players fit until the likes of Cazorla and Coquelin come back then I reckon the title could be coming to north London. The good news for Arsenal is that Alexis Sanchez will be back before the trip to Anfield and you cannot understimate the effect a fresh and fit Alexis could have.

But the other big thing we must do to secure this title is some proper transfer business next month. Is that the most important thing for the club to get right or do we just need to keep going as we are?
