Hello, hello everybody! So with the season coming to an end and Arsenal as usual battling it out for top 4, lots of questions have been raised after another season of failure. Truth is though that in reality there is no way Arsene will be sacked. That brings me to the first major point.
How many more years will he get for his next extension? I feel like it’s inevitable. We have no plan for success, so it makes absolutely no reason to change the manager. But if you look at the real side of Arsenal which is a business would you be worried?
I would, because the competitors in our business environment – the Premier league are moving well forward with younger and exciting managers that could well rock English football. It’s a slippery slope once you go out of the Champions League – just ask Liverpool.
So the more we give Arsene the more we are at best stuck where are, but more worryingly we are not just stuck, we’re moving backwards and Spurs finishing above us would be just the start of the grand failure that’s coming, due to the fact we refuse to address the problem.
But enough about this, there is another major problem coming from the players we have and those that will remain here next season. Rumors are Walcott is looking for an exit, because he’s stuck on the bench, but with that salary I’d wish him the best of luck.
The Ox is also on the ropes and so is Gibbs. But you know what, I remember more messed up games from those players, than ones where their solid performance brought us something good and I won’t miss them much. Neither will I miss Theo who only ever played well to earn a new contract.
Add Arteta, Flamini and Rosicky who’d hopefully finally be released, we’ll obviously be short of numbers, let alone quality which we already lack. But if you see Wenger’s comments which I try ignore ever so much, you’d hear the same old story of 10 years ago. We’d sign Messi if he is available for peanuts.
We tried this in 2011 and after losing 8-2 away to MU we added lots of players who were average, but gave us the numbers to finish in the top four. We’re likely to be inactive in the window again, which will be disastrous with the reinforcements all the other top teams will be doing with their new managers.
We now have more competition than ever before and we’ll soon pay the price. We are not entitled to 4th place just cause Arsene is in charge and if we continue to ignore reality it will come to bite us.
If you take a look at the papers, the Wenger polls, the banners, the petitions, there is a huge wave of fans who no longer believe he will take us forward and they are speaking their concern because of the past 10 years.
Arsenal have become just like what every big company is. A machine ripping off it’s clients, which in this case is us. But worse, there is no indication whatsoever that our concerns will be heard. This summer will be about making decisions as to where we are heading as a business as well as a football club.
I don’t believe the fans will make the necessary course of action to fix our problems and neither will the board, but the players cannot be forced to stay and Ozil and Sanchez may be looking at the exit door as another season rolls over repeating history because we didn’t learn our lesson.
What will be Wenger’s contract extension? Will we sign the necessary players? Will we sign any players at all? Will we take an action towards the future and will we start working on a manager like Simeone or Koeman to come here or will we just sit by and hope that it will be lucky 13th for Arsene?
Questions, so many questions… What I fear is the most is that I think we all know the answers.
