How strong should Arsenal start for Bayern Munich

Arsenal fans have plenty of reasons to be cheerful at the minute, but the Champions League situation is not one of them. Things are certainly going our way in the Premier League, with a much better injury situation and all of our big players finding some great form. And we also won the north London derby in the Capital One cup and got as decent draw against Sheffield Wednesday in the next round.

So even though Arsenal are really up against it in Europe after losing the first two group games, there are reasons for the players to believe that we have the ability to rescue the situation. The big problem, however, is the team standing in our way.

Bayern Munich won again in the Bundesliga today and that set a new record of winning the first nine league games of the season. They have also won both of their Champions League games so the Gunners are facing as tough a task as you could imagine.

With Arsene Wenger making no bones about his prioritising of the EPL this season, and facing the German champions in just three days, there is a chance the Frenchman will field a weakened side. I would sort of understand him not risking the likes of Alexis Sanchez but I also feel that he should.

If we win this home tie on Tuesday then we have a decent shot of qualifying and can approach the other games accordingly. If we lose or draw then we can forget the Champions League and try to ensure that we do not drop into the Europa League either.

But surely we have to give it our best go on Tuesday, especially as we do not play again until the Sunday. Just imagine what a boost it would be if Arsenal can beat arguably the best team in Europe right now. What do you think Gooners, should we go all guns blazing and try to rescue this European campaign?
