Eddie Howe has played down the likelihood of Jack Wilshere returning to Bournemouth following his one-year loan spell from Arsenal.
The Gunners allowed Jack to join the Cherries on a temporary deal this term as he looked to get his fitness, and his career back on track, and things had looked bright.
Wilshere managed to come through the majority of the campaign unscathed, and was giving us hopes of having a rejuvenated midfield dynamo to call upon next season, but last month he fell foul of injury against Spurs (typical!), and is now ruled out of the remainder of the term.
Arsenal have now taken control of our former youth product’s recuperation, and have sent him to Dubai in an attempt to have him fit before the start of the new season.
Wilshere’s future has been up in the air, and widely speculated partly down to his exit this term, but one team who are not expecting to land him is Bournemouth.
Manager Eddie Howe enjoyed his time with the England international, but is not expecting a reunion at the Vitality Stadium.
“I think it’s going to be really difficult for us,” said Howe, when asked on Friday about the chances of re-signing Wilshere.
“We wish him well for the future.”
“When we signed him on loan, and I have said this many times, the plan was for him to stay for a season and then to go back to Arsenal to evaluate his future”, he added.
