Huddersfield v Arsenal Match Preview, Line-up and Score prediction – Wenger’s Gunners to fire one last time?

Arsene Wenger is set to walk onto a football pitch as Arsenal manager for the last time after 22 years in charge as they travel to Huddersfield for the final match of the 2017/18 campaign.

The Frenchman will likely have his final starting XI selected bar any last minute injuries, and it will certainly be an emotional evening for fans and players alike.

A number of people are expecting Santi Cazorla to be given the nod to make his final appearance for our club also, having suffered a number injury setbacks in recent seasons, but with him well established as a fans favourite thanks to his demeanour and special ability.

Per Mertesacker could also get one final run out as he hangs up his boots to take up a coaching role, and he may well take the place of the suspended youngster Mavropanos, who got himself sent off in midweek.

Predicted XI:

Cech
Bellerin  Mertesacker  Chambers  Kolasinac
Xhaka  Wilshere
Iwobi  Mkhitaryan  Aubameyang
Lacazette

This team certainly has enough ability to bully any team, but for some reason we have been cursed away from home since the turn of the year, and the occasion should well be a strange one, but you would think our players would be boosted by the atmosphere.

Our opponents will be keen to give their fans one last hurrah after an impressive season in which they avoided relegation despite a minimal budget, but you would think that the atmosphere would be very friendly on their part, and I would expect a large amount of their section of the crowd to include Arsenal fans also.

I am getting fed up of predicting wins for our boys and not getting them, but I can’t help but believe that our players will really want to do this today for Wenger, and I will once again go for a comfortable 3-1 win, with Aubameyang getting only his third away goal for us since joining in January.

Will the occasion prove distracting for the players? Does our away form put too much pressure on our team?
