Injured Trio Return For Arsenal, But Should Wenger Rotate?

As Arsenal get set to lock horns with Liverpool, the Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger has given the latest team news ahead of the big clash in the fight for Champions League football. Both Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere are likely to return to the squad this weekend, while Mathieu Debuchy has started full training and should be able to make the squad for next weekend’s game against Burnley.

But with the team doing really well at the moment, it will be interesting to see how the returning trio will be integrated back into the team. Francis Coquelin has been a revelation for Arsenal since being recalled from his loan spell at Charlton and there is certainly now way he’s losing his place in the side, while Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla have taken it in shifts to partner the Frenchman in the heart of the Gunners’ midfield.

At right-back, young Hector Bellerin, according to me, has been yet another revelation this season and ending his breakthrough season on a high note will certainly be crucial for the Spaniard. What I’m trying to say is that even though Wenger will now have the luxury of rotating his players, he should avoid it as much as possible. With just ten games to go in the season including the two games we’re likely to play in the FA Cup, I really don’t see the need for it.

In my opinion, since all three of these players are returning after long-term injuries, I feel that they should be used sparingly by the manager and the main objective should be to get them 100% fit for the next campaign. For now, I think Le Prof should stick to the players who are doing the job.
