Could Jack Wilshere be Arsenal’s most important player against Tottenham?

Lee Dixon has claimed that Jack Wilshere should be the first name on the Arsenal team-sheet for the crunch encounter with Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon, and having had a bet on the Gunners using my wm 2018 wetten bonus code I hope for once that the Boss gets the team selection right. The Gunners travel across North London to take on their noisy neighbours, and Arsene Wenger may have some tough decisions to make for this crucial encounter.

The Arsenal boss will have to decide which formation to field, with the most likely option being last week’s winning 4-2-3-1 system, which the club have been well adept at using prior to switching to 3-4-2-1 around 12 months back. The only issue with the older system is that he would have to decide on only one of Aaron Ramsey or Jack Wilshere to line up alongside Granit Xhaka, with both stars proving to be key players so far this term.

This could well lead to a 4-3-2-1 formation being used, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Wilshere being used in a more advanced role, taking Alex Iwobi’s place in the side from last week.

Lee Dixon has moved to claim that he would select Jack before any of his other team-mates, and that our team needs him today as we look to take on our rivals.

“We all know what a good player he is and how he plays the game,” he said.

“And we all enjoy watching him play, I’m speaking for everybody I think.

“He’s a player that you enjoy watching because he’s got drive, he’s got determination, he’s got skill on the ball.

“He’s a good passer and all of that sort of stuff.

“For a north London derby he’s got the perfect snap in his tackle and in his demeanour and you definitely need that.

“I just think we miss a little bit of that in our side and certainly Jack would be number one on the team sheet for me.”

Does Wilshere simply have to start today? Could he start alongside Xhaka at CM? If Wilshere is a must does that mean Ramsey could be benched despite his performance last week?
