Is Jack Wilshere’s future with Arsenal?

Jamie Redknapp claimed that Jack Wilshere has no future at Arsenal Football Club, but that will be inconceivable for most Gunners fans.

The 24 year-old is currently on loan with Bournemouth, in order to regain his fitness and enjoy a run of first-team football as he looks to get his career back on track following a number of long-term injuries.

This weekend was the first time that Jack has been able to complete a fifth consecutive match in over two years, and he can most definitely thank his temporary spell with the Cherries for that feat.

Redknapp now claims that he no longer has a future with his current parent club Arsenal, although he also  believes he is too good for Bournemouth in the long-term.

Talking before the game against Tottenham, Redknapp said: “I don’t see a future at Arsenal any more, I think now he will realise he has got to get away from Arsenal.

“It’s too comfortable for him there. He is not going to get into the team at Arsenal regularly.”

“If he makes that move he can show what he is all about. No disrespect, I think he’s a step above Bournemouth, but I think it’s a great thing for him to do. He’s really putting himself out there.”

Following on from the game, which ended 0-0 after a hard-fought game from both sides, Jamie added: “It’s massive for him. He has proved to himself he can play 90 minutes and I think it is important.

“He did really well today and it was difficult for him against Dembele and Wanyama, they are big units. It was always difficult but some of his touches were exquisite and as the game wore on, the last five minutes he came back into it again.

“When he plays for England, I just don’t see him as a defensive midfielder because you lose so much of what he does well.

“In that role he plays now [for Bournemouth] he can see the game and slow it down, and he’s a lovely link for the team.”

Can Jack Wilshere return to Arsenal and fight for a regular role? Where would he fit into the first-team?
