Is one Arsenal legend helping Lacazette to become another?

He will have top go some to beat or even come anywhere near the goal scoring record and status among the Arsenal fans as his fellow countryman Thierry Henry, but the France international forward Alexandre Lacazette does have time on his side, as he is still only 26-years old.

His career as a striker for the Gunners may not have exploded into life as he and we Arsenal fans would have hoped for, but then again we have seen plenty of players come to the Premier League from abroad and find that it takes time to get into the swing of things.

That was true of our club record scorer and this is apparently one of the things that Henry has been saying to the new Arsenal striker, according to a Metro. Lacazette has revealed that he has been talking with Henry on a regular basis since he joined our club and it appears that these talks have really helped him.

The 26-year old said, ‘I talked with Thierry when I arrived and I now talk with him regularly.

‘He told me England is not easy like in France, it is different.

‘The advice he gave me is personal — but he trusted and believed in me.

‘If Thierry can believe in me like the coach does, that’s good.

‘The surgery is in my past, so I can play 100 per cent and I’m happy. I felt pain and decided with the medical staff surgery was the solution. I don’t regret it.’

Lacazette has certainly got off to a good start on his return from that injury lay-off and perhaps the chars with our former great have helped his confidence and approach, but will that help him to become an Arsenal legend like the great Frenchman that came before him?
