BID CONFIRMED – Is Turkey the answer for Jack Wilshere? Or will Arsenal overprice a sale again?

It will depend on the wishes of Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal and England international star, but Jack Wilshere could be about to end his long career as a Gunner, in the same summer that his old friend and fellow Arsenal fan Wojciech Szczesny swaps north London for Turin and his new club Juventus.

Wilshere’s next destination will not be as glamorous or well known in football terms as Juve but if he is serious about getting his playing career going again it may just be the right thing to do for the 25-year old to up sticks and take his new wife to Turkey, where he is wanted by Antalyaspor according to a Daily Mail report.

Just like with his season on loan with Premier League club AFC Bournemouth last year, playing for the Turkish club would surely mean that Wilshere would be a regular starter and that is what he needs, especially as his recovery from the latest unlucky injury, a broken leg, has seen him miss out on the pre-season schedule with the Gunners.

What the report does not say is how much the Turkish club are offering for Jack but it does say that Arsene Wenger has already turned down a transfer bid of £6.5 million from the Italian club Sampdoria so you would assume that Antalyaspor have improved on that. “We made an enquiry and are in talks but Arsenal want a lot for Wilshere,” The Turkish club’s president Safak Ozturk said, as quoted by Sky Sports. “It will be a difficult move to pull off.”

Will Arsenal lose another sale because of their inflated transfer fees? Would Wilshere accept the move? Or is Wilshere going to stay at Arsenal for the final year of his deal and leave for free next summer?
