Is whole Arsenal squad REALLY happy about Wenger contract?

With Arsenal having handed our long serving manager another two year contract extension despite seemingly ever growing unrest among some of the club’s fans, you are not going to hear any of the current playing staff saying anything negative or critical about Arsene Wenger.

Does that mean that the whole Arsenal squad are happy about the Frenchman staying in charge though? Not necessarily, but that is what the Wales international midfield star Aaron Ramsey has claimed, according to an Evening Standard report.

Ramsey has more reason than most to be happy about Wenger’s new deal, I suppose, as the Frenchman has shown great loyalty to the player and was almost a lone voice when Rambo was struggling to come back and find any sort of form after his long injury lay-off.

The Welshman said, “It is hard when all that speculation is going on.

“As a player, you try to put it to the back of your mind but obviously you are not sure what is happening.

“We’re glad now that it has finally been announced he’s staying. We’re all happy.

“Hopefully now we can start the season strongly and have a real good go, not just for ourselves but for him as well.”

We all hope so too mate, but a lot of us fear that next season will be the same old story – and that is why some ambitious players hungry for trophy success like Alexis Sanchez may not be quite as happy as Rambo. There may also be some Gunners like Giroud, Walcott and the Ox who feel that the boss does not give them enough playing time.

Don’t you think it would be better for the Arsenal squad to know they have a chance of winning the title than to be happy that Wenger has kept his job?
