It May happen so would Arsenal be better out of Europe?

Okay so Arsenal have three games in hand on Everton, who currently sit in fifth place with three more points than Arsenal. After today’s Premier League games we will also have three games more to play than Liverpool and with Jurgen Klopp’s team already six points better off in fourth we could really do with a favour from their opponents today West Brom.

Even without any help, though, the Gunners still just about have a top four finish in their own hands, as we still have to play Manchester United at home. I think that a more realistic prospect, however, is for Arsenal to drop out of Europe altogether, which will happen if we fail to improve on our current position and do not lift the FA cup trophy next month.

Those games in hand are only useful if we win them and in our current form and looking at the fixture list it does not look good, so my question is whether this might actually be better for Arsenal in the long run. We have seen clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea thrive without all the extra midweek games and the toll they take on a squad and we know that Arsenal are beset annually with more injury problems than most.

Do you think we could miss out on both the Champions League and Europa League? And would it actually do us good to do so?

Bob.
