Jack Wilshere admitted that it would feel strange to see his parent club Arsenal will the Premier League title without him.
The Gunners climbed up to second in the league table this weekend thanks to the help of Jack Wilshere’s on loan side Bournemouth, who earned a hard-fought win over Liverpool on Sunday.
Wilshere played the full 90 minutes of the match, where his side came back from a 3-1 deficit to steal a late 4-3 victory, and the club moved to congratulate their youth product on the victory.
Following on from the match, Wilshere answered some questions on his current stance when it comes to Arsenal’s title push.
“I’d be happy for them [if Arsenal won the title],” the 24-year-old said.
“Someone asked me if it would be strange, but I’ve been there for that long and I know the manager and we have a good relationship. I know that’s the one he wants the most.
“He’s hungry for that and he’s built a team over the years which now he feels – and a lot of people feel – is ready to really challenge.
“I’d be happy for them. Of course, it would be a little bit strange because I’m not there and you’d see all the celebrations, but I’m an Arsenal man, I’ve been there for many years, and I want them to do well.”
Should Wilshere be annoyed or happy if we were to pick up the Premier League in his absence? Would that assure him that his future was elsewhere?
