Although Jack Wilshere has gone out on loan to Bournemouth his contract with Arsenal actually runs out next summer, so, theoretically, he could end up as a free agent at the end of his loan and maybe never return to the Emirates as a Gunner!
But I doubt very much that Arsene Wenger would allow that, but we could worry about Arsenal giving him a massive pay rise after contributing very very little to the team in the last two years. The Independent has published a quote supposedly from an Emirates source, who said: “Jack left because he wanted to get more first-team football to get his England spot back.
“He loves Arsenal and wants to remain and the club and the chats he has had with the club have been very positive on both sides.
“Jack is desperate to stay and prove himself to everyone what a top-class player he is. The experience about Bournemouth should serve him well.”
There are many stories in the press regarding Arsenal extending current contracts, with the main focus being on Ozil and Alexis of course, but it isa very different situation with the ever-injured Wilshere. Surely he will want to at least match Walcott’s earningsif he is to stay,but doyou think Wenger should simply cave in and pay him whatever he wants,or should we wait until at least January to see if he can stay fit that long?
