Jeff had so much promise – Arsenal may regret selling him…

Jeff Reine-Adelaide arrived at Arsenal with so much promise when Wenger bought him from Ligue 2 side Lens in 2015 and there is no doubt that he was impressive, but injuries and inconsistency plagued him in the last three years.

But he came good out on loan at Angers last season, and the French club were so impressed that they wanted him on a permanent deal. Jeff is surely better than that, but the promise of first team football probably swayed him, as well as a return to his home country, as right now he has very little hope of breaking into Unai Emery’s starting line up.

Arsenal officially announced the move today….

The 20-year-old signed for us in July 2015 from Ligue 2 side Racing Club Lens, where he played in the youth and reserve sides.

Jeff made eight first team appearances over three seasons. In the 2016/17 campaign, Jeff played in all three of our League Cup matches before becoming a key player in our under-23 squad. He is also a France youth international.

We would like to wish Jeff all the best for the future.

Having seen the youngster against Boreham Wood in pre-season, I can’t help thinking that this could be a big mistake on our part as I feel he will develop into a top player in the future.

He said his goodbye on Twitter like this….

Well I can only say good luck Jeff, and I think we will be hearing about him a lot more in the future…
