Juventus midfielder ‘flattered’ by Arsenal interest

Mario Lemina has admitted to being ‘flattered’ by the interest shown in him by Arsenal and Watford at present.

The midfielder is currently playing for Juventus, but is used sparingly at the club, and could be open to a move which will guarantee him more regular action.

Lemina started only eight matches in Serie A this term, but did feature in the Champions League final as a late substitute, which may well show how rated he is in their squad.

The Gabonese international is known to be of interest to Arsene Wenger, and has been likened to Manchester United’s record signing Paul Pogba, who also played for the Italian giants previously.

Lemina has now spoken of his happiness due to the interest shown by Arsenal and Watford, and admits that he is open to move in the future.

He said: “I am flattered by the interest of Arsenal and Watford. I am playing for a big club now but I am happy about the interest of other clubs.

“I do not have a preference for any league. My future depends on who really wants me.”

The 23 year-old did rule out a switch to Lyon however, who have also been linked, due to his allegiance to Marseille where he is from.

“I don’t think I’ll be moving to Lyon. I am from Marseille and I am not interested in joining them. I don’t think I have a chance to return to Marseille,” he added.

Could Lemina bolster our midfield options this summer? Could he challenge Xhaka and Ramsey in our new 3-4-2-1 system?
