Lacazette? Could Arsenal make a massive profit this summer by promoting kids?

There seems to be a new crazy Arsenal transfer rumour every single day, and today’s is that Alexandre Lacazette could be sold to fund our transfer chest this summer. It is true that the Frenchman rarely plays a full game, and the sending off against BATE last week has highlighted the fact that Emery may be worried that Laca is a bit hot-headed to stat on the field for the frenzied last 20 minutes of a game. But to sell such a brilliant striker is very unlikely in my mind especially considering the price of replacements. Could Emery be thinking of promoting Nketiah?

We already know that Aaron Ramsey, Petr Cech, Danny Welbeck, Jenkinson and Lichtsteiner are all out of contract, although Monreal has been granted an extension for a year. It is still totally unknown if Suarez will make his mark in the next few months, but the odds are he will be returning to Barcelona in the summer.

So far the ridiculous rumours have given us reason to believe that Guendouzi, Ozil and now Lacazette could be sold to add to our funds and reduce our wage bill.

Now I’m not going to say anything is impossible, given the cost-cutting exercises going on at the club, but I certainly don’t believe that Arsenal will be buying that amount of replacements in one window.

So I am going to stick my neck out, and suggest that we will be seeing a lot of our youngsters promoted to the first team squad next season. It will save us fortunes in transfer fees, and probably even more in wages, and we could yet again end up making a big profit in the summer.

It will certainly make the next campaign interesting as we see whether our youngsters will sink or swim, but I don’t think the fans will be very happy this summer…
