Why Leicester title win proves Arsenal boss was right

I sincerely hope that Arsene Wenger is planning some big Arsenal transfer plans set for this summer and I believe that the Frenchman will have been stung enough by the heavy fire aimed at him by Arsenal fans and the football media alike for dropping the ball this year and failing to take advantage of the unexpected struggles of Chelsea, Man City and Man United.

I am gutted about the Gunners not being the club to take advantage, of course, and I do believe that Wenger being more proactive in the summer and winter transfer windows could have made a difference. However, I think it is a bit unfair that the media have piled it all on Arsenal while the massive spending clubs seem to have got away with it.

And if you think about it, the triumph of the underdogs Leicester City has actually proved the Frenchman right, because for years he has been saying that it is not all about spending money on big name transfers. He has spoken about having the right balance of players and the right blend of personalities in the dressing room.

Claudio Ranieri may have been very fortunate to be able to call on the same small core of players for almost every league game but good luck to him and the Foxes have certainly proved that team spirit and the right tactics can overcome an expensive but perhaps not well balanced group of star names.

So I am not looking for Arsenal to make wholesale changes in the summer, but I do expect the boss to make a few big transfers to add the right quality and cover to stop the problems that hurt us so badly in the middle section of this season. What do you guys want from the summer?
