Arsenal target Llorente is the perfect striker……..for Spurs!

There are many reports saying that Fernando Llorente’s agent is in London for talks with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, although Man United and Real Madrid (really?) are also said to be in the running, with the Gunners being favourites to sign the out-of-favour Juventus failure for a fee of around £8.5m.

Yes, Arsenal need some competition for Olivier Giroud, but no, we do not want or need Llorente. I would back Walcott or even Welbeck to score more goals than this over-the-hill unwanted ex-Spanish international striker, which is why I think Tottenham should go all out to sign him! He could perhaps improve on Soldado’s scoring record for the Spurs!

Llorente was a quite good striker when he was younger. He is big and strong and has great heading skills and helpful hold up play (sound familiar?), and his record of 18 goals in 45 games for Juve in his first season was just about acceptable, but last season (his second in Turin) he only managed 9 in the same amount of games. Juve responded by signing three more strikers this summer (Simone Zaza, Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala) which has left the Lion King desperately looking for one more payday before he retires.

There is as much chance of Arsenal signing this has-been as there is of us signing Lionel Messi for £10m, which is why I think that Tottenham would be perfect for him!
