Madness: Arsenal boss claimed to ‘do nothing’ ahead of crunch tie

A book is apparently being written by Rob Beasley on Jose Mourinho at present, and some of the Arsenal linked reports are rather outrageous.

Yesterday it emerged that the former Chelsea FC boss had wanted to get one over on Arsene Wenger, by snatching one of Theo Walcott or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in return for Petr Cech’s services, and was left angered when he was forced to part ways with his consistent and professional shot-stopper in return for cash only.

The latest claims are that Mourinho was in contact with one of Arsenal’s stars, and the individual claimed that Wenger had done nothing in training in the build-up to a Manchester City win, and that the players had to arrange themselves tactically.

I find it hard to believe that this could be said in any manner apart from as a tongue-in-cheek joke, unless the player was simply pulling the Portuguese’s chain.

Beasley said: ‘Later in the 2014–15 season there was more astonishing stuff from Jose after Chelsea won 5–0 at Swansea. When I congratulated Mourinho he was already looking forward to the next day’s clash between Manchester City and Arsenal,’ Beasley wrote.

‘He declared: ‘Yes was good, now let’s see s*** Arsenal.’ We were both convinced City would win but Arsenal won 2–0.

‘I told Jose they’d actually done a ‘Chelsea’ and copied his game plan from a year ago and his emailed response left me gobsmacked.

‘First he joked: ‘Mr Wenger gets new 5 years contract’ but then he claimed ‘(One of the Arsenal players) sent me an SMS to say players did themselves, organised themselves during the week. Wenger did nothing.

‘When I expressed my amazement he replied that his information was ‘100 per cent’.’

I refuse to accept that Wenger ‘did nothing’ in the build up to such a huge tie, so do we think that Mourinho was winding up the reporter or that a Gunner was messing with the ‘Special One’?
