Maybe it’s good for Torreira to be introduced to the Arsenal team slowly?

Arsenal’s newest and probably most important signing this summer is the Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira who arrived from Sampdoria. It has been a massive summer for the 22 year-old with the move to Arsenal after a month with his country at the World Cup. Then after the first month in the Premier League he has gone off on international duty once again

“This is all new, the league is very different from the Italian”.

“It’s a pride to be the first Uruguayan in Arsenal”.

“I always dreamed of playing in a club like that and I’m living it at 22 years old. Sometimes I find it hard to stop in time and see where I am.”

Well he is obviously happy to be here but it sounds like he is a bit overawed by how fast things are moving. Maybe it is sensible for Emery to gently ease the youngster into the team in stages. It is a big leap from playing for Sampdoria to the very physically demanding Premier League, as well as moving to a new City and learning the language, all in one go!

Maybe we should give him a little more time?
