Mourinho admits injury crisis ahead of Arsenal clash

Man United are suffering from a glut of injuries at the moment, with midfielder Victor Lindelof out until the end of the month, and Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling very doubtful after missing out on the Southampton draw, and it remains to be seen if Luke Shaw will be available after the left-back was replaced against his former club due to a suspected knock. Alexis Sanchez (whohe?) is out until the New Year, which is a real shame. Marcus Rashford was also taken off in the Saints game, and Mourinho was giving nothing away when he said: “He was injured, he was asking to come off,”

“Some players with that kind of injury do not play for two weeks. But Marcus, I am pretty sure he will be fine for the next one.”

We shall see about him and the others, but one United player that will definitely not play is Ashley Young, who will serve a one-match suspension tonight. The pressure is obviously getting to Mourinho, and he even refused to talk to MUTV about who could be available for the match. “I don’t want to update you,” The Special None replied.

“I would like Arsenal TV to ask the same questions but they don’t, they hide everything from the inside, so why should I answer to you?”

“We are going to be in difficulty again to build the team,”

“We are again going to have to make adaptations and compensations to try to give some balance to the team.

“But then I believe we are again going to have the spirit to fight and to try to win the match.”

He may not have spoken to MUTV, but Jose has just released an injury update on the Official ManUnited website, and it seems that Phil Jones is also doubtful. He said: “If our game was today, I’d say Jones is not playing, Smalling is not playing and Bailly is not playing but we will have to wait,” Jose said.

“Valencia is not playing. Shaw is a doubt. Darmian is back, but I have to wait. Of course, Lindelof is out of the question.”

“Against Southampton, three hours before the game I didn’t know the team that is going to play, so nobody knew the team and ourselves, we didn’t know,”

“We were waiting and waiting and waiting to see who could, who couldn’t, and I think we are going to be in a similar situation this time.”

So I know its not a good idea to be overconfident ahead of any game, especially one at Old Trafford, but for once I think we have every chance of extending our unbeaten run to 20, and three points would be even sweeter!
