Official Arsenal team at Man City with Coquelin AND Xhaka

Okay Gooners, this is a big one that Arsenal really need to get something out of, and despite the fact we are away to Man City who have been in great form and are the Premier League pace setters, Arsene Wenger understands that all three points are the order of the day and has vowed that the Gunners will take the game to Pep Guardiola’s free scoring side.

From the look of the starting line-up selected buy the manager, though, I think he may have been overstating that case, because we have no Lacazette in the team and Wenger has also named two holding midfielders in Coquelin and Xhaka.

Cech
Bellerin, Monreal, Koscielny, Kolasinac
Coquelin, Xhaka, Ramsey
Ozil, Sanchez, Iwobi

Subs: Macey, Debuchy, Lacazette, Wilshere, Giroud, Walcott, Elneny

With no Per Mertesacker or Holding in the squad it looks like the bioss has opted for a back four with Koscielny and Monreal in the middle and Kolasinac and Bellerin as full backs.

Hopefully the surprise selection will confuse Guardiola and the Man City players but I am not exactly bursting with confidence about Arsenal getting anything out of today’s big match, never mind a win that would close the gap on the current leaders.

Bob.
