Ox gives much needed lift to downcast Arsenal fans

Yes I know that it might be a little bit petty and small minded for Arsenal fans to take some pleasure from the suffering of others, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a former player who showed our club no love or respect when forcing his transfer to our Premier League rivals Liverpool during the summer transfer window, so that makes him fair game in my book.

It would be a wonderful world if everyone could get along with one another and be happy for those players who decided that Arsenal was not the place for them, but that is not the way it is, and so the Oz along with the likes of Robbing van Pursestrings and Cashley Cole will never be forgiven by most Gooners.

It would also be nice if the players that were still part of Arsenal FC had given us fans plenty of reasons to be cheerful so we did not have to look elsewhere for some sort of lift, but once again that is not the way the world is right now, so we are forced to take solace in whatever we can and right now the sorry situation of the Ox at his new club is working wonders for me.

As reported by Metro, Jurgen Klopp has dealt another blow to the ego of the former Gunner by explaining that he has now changed his mind about playing the England international in central midfield and that was reportedly the main reason he wanted to leave us and go to Anfield.

The German said, ‘I would say there has been no consistency until now. We let him run so far, let him do what he is naturally good at and it will take time but it’s all good. He is obviously powerful and that is what we need.

‘At the moment his best position is more the wing that the No 8. Without training, playing in the middle of the park doesn’t make sense.

‘I was not only happy about his offensive situations [against Manchester United], I also liked the way he reacted after we lost the ball.

‘At this moment he is training only on the wing so it is clear. It can never be without training as a No.8 first.

‘It wouldn’t be good for him, it wouldn’t be good for us.

‘For now it makes more sense to pick him in the more offensive positions. But it is not fixed for the next five years.’

Chamberlain´s ‘dream’ move to Liverpool seems to be turning out to be a bit of a nightmare. He is not going to get the central position he wanted and is not even starting in his less favoured role either and has yet to be on the winning side since his transfer. Altogether now, aaaahhhh…
