Pardew exit to help Arsenal transfer bid succeed?

There have been growing Arsenal transfer rumours linking us with a possible swoop for Newcastle United and France international star Moussa Sissoko. The versatile midfielder even spoke recently about how he supported Arsenal when he was growing up and suggested that he would love to play for the Gunners one day.

But he also said that he was happy at his current club for now. There have also been reports recently that the Magpies were set to reject an opening transfer bid from Arsenal of around £9 million. According to local paper the Chronicle, the north east club had assured Alan Pardew that Sissoko would not be sold without his say-so as another of their top French talents Yohan Cabaye had been a year ago.

But now that Pardew has left Newcastle to take charge at Crystal Palace, who knows what the club’s owner Mike Ashley might do. If Wenger was planning to make an offer for the versatile and talented Frenchman in the January transfer window, the departure of the long serving Newcastle boss will certainly not have harmed our chances of success.

And the Arsenal boss did hint the other day that central midfield was the position he was focusing on. So can Gooners expect to see Sissoko in an Arsenal shirt soon?
