PHEW! Ox and Walcott give worried Arsenal BIG injury boost!

Arsene Wenger has today given us the latest update on the Arsenal injury situation. And while we are still as threadbare as a 10 year old tea towel, there are a couple of very positive bits of news for the Gunners ahead of our first return to Anfield since that horrible 5-1 capitulation last season that sparked the beginning of the end to our hopes of winning the EPL title once again.

So while Brendan Rodgers and his players are nowhere near as dangerous as the last time we went there, Arsene Wenger is well aware that our problems in defence and central midfield are far from ideal. So the news on Arsenal.com that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is very likely to be fit to start the game is absolutely fantastic and a huge relief. Without him, Arsenal were in deep trouble and would have to bring in a young Gunner from the academy to play along with Flamini in the middle.

The Ox is not training yet and still needs a final test on Saturday but that seems like a precaution. The other good news is on Theo Walcott, who also has a chance of travelling to Liverpool, although the England flyer would only be on the bench. It would be great to see Theo get on the pitch though and it seems that his proper comeback is just around the corner.
